Sound Familiar?

Small teams face big-company benefit costs.

  • Renewal increases that make the budget harder every year
  • Hard to hire and keep good people without benefits
  • Covering yourself and family as the owner is expensive
  • Staff on different needs: some want rich coverage, others the lowest cost
  • Non-profit and church budgets that have to stretch further
  • No time to shop carriers and compare the fine print

Options I Can Compare

More than one way to offer health benefits.

Every business is different. Here are the main approaches I’ll walk you through.

Traditional Group Health

A fully insured small-group plan with predictable monthly premiums. A common fit when you want one plan for the whole team.

Level-Funded Plans

A fixed monthly cost with the potential for a refund if claims run low. Often considered by healthier groups; usually involves underwriting.

Health Reimbursement (ICHRA / QSEHRA)

You set a monthly allowance and employees choose their own individual plans. Helpful when you want a fixed budget.

Dental, Vision & Life

Add-on benefits that are often affordable for employers and valued by employees.

Owner & Family Coverage

Just you, or you and your spouse? We’ll look at private individual options that may fit better than a group plan.

Non-Profits & Churches

Options for pastors, staff, and team members, explained clearly for your board or leadership.

Good to know

Which options are available depends on your group size, state, participation, and eligibility, and not every option fits every business. Reimbursement arrangements have specific rules, and I’m not a tax advisor, so please coordinate tax questions with your CPA.

Questions

Common questions.

How small is too small for a group plan?

It depends on your state and the carrier. Many small-group plans need at least one eligible employee who isn’t the owner or spouse. If it’s just you, we’ll look at individual private options instead.

Do I have to pay for my employees’ coverage?

Not entirely. Employers typically contribute a portion, and carriers usually set minimum contribution and participation rules. We’ll find a structure that fits your budget.

What’s the difference between a group plan and an ICHRA?

A group plan gives everyone the same plan choices. With an ICHRA, you give employees a set allowance and they pick their own individual plan. Each has trade-offs I’ll walk you through.

Do you work with non-profits and churches?

Yes. I help pastors, staff, and boards understand their options in plain English.

Can you review my current renewal?

Yes. Send me your renewal and I’ll compare it to what else is available for your group, at no cost.

Let’s look at your options.

A quick benefits review costs nothing and could change your next renewal.
